The Ankle Bully Winter Basketball camp overall was a great event. The trainers were top notch. It was obvious the team Johnny Stephene aka “Dribble2Much” put together was passionate about teaching their respective crafts and not there just to pass time. The energy and enthusiasm level was high from the moment you walked in the door and checked in with Brittany Stephene and was echoed by each staff member. There was a respectable range of drills the attendees were exposed to from ball handling, defense movements, footwork with and without the ball, 2 and 3 player work off the pick and roll, and plyometrics led by the Athletic Gaines Staff. Many parents were hoping to take a picture of their child with both Dribble2Much and The Professor. It was a classy move by camp staff to make this easy by organizing a photo op for parents to take photos at the end of the camp. Both Dribble2Much and The Professor, despite their busy schedules, hung around and spoke with parents and kids entertaining a wide variety of questions.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Cons

Timeliness – Started on time. Stayed on schedule. Camp kept moving. Very little dead time. Group Split – Groups were separated based on Size and not skill. Some kids bother smaller and taller had kids in their group with a wide range of skill. The complexity of the drill work in the ball handling and pick and roll stations were based on size. So the groups with the smaller sized kids did less complex drills although some of the smaller talent was above some of the taller kids.
Cost – $99 was reasonable for the wide variety of skills that were touched on. T-Shirts – They did not have sizes for the smaller kids. This is a common theme with many camps due to the investments cost vs. number of smaller size attendees.
Skills – Wide range of skills covered.
Organized Photo Op – Classy move to arrange photo op at the end. Icing on the cake to a great experience. If parents had any doubt in paying $100 for a one day 3hr camp that concern was eliminated.
Giveaways – HandleLife Wristbands and Ankle Bully T-shirts were provided.

Final Thoughts

Dribble2Much started the camp out by personally greeting and interacting with the kids and the parents in the stands. He did a great job at making everyone feel comfortable and valued. Once The Professor arrived, he embodied the very same commitment to the player and audience.
